arts@leeds Grant Aid Programme

Deadline 14 January 2011
The arts@leeds Grant Aid Programme aims to increase people's access to the arts and enable people to take part fully and with greater confidence, achieving a balance of creative opportunity across the city for the benefit of all communities.

Grants awarded are not generally for more than £1,000. Applicants seeking a larger amount should contact the Senior Arts Development Officer. At least 10% of project costs must be found from other sources. Applications for the total cost of a project will not normally be considered.

Applications are welcome for both core and project funding.

Work may include workshops, festivals, exhibitions, performances, participatory project work and publications. Priority is given to applications which show evidence of local demand, fill gaps in current arts provision, and demonstrate that they are effectively delivering work on the community.

Funding is available in a wide range of fields of the arts. The following are some examples:

Contemporary art.
Music.
Theatre.
Dance.
Puppetry.
Craft.
Film.
Photography.
New media/electronic arts.
Writing.
Applications are welcomed from non-profit making organisations involved in arts and cultural activities in the community. Organisations applying for core funding must be based within the Leeds Metropolitan area, be arts based, and operate for the benefit of the people of Leeds. Organisations based outside Leeds or non-arts-based organisations can only apply for project funding.

The 2011/12 deadline for receipt of applications is 14 January 2011.
